Statusbar Part III
- Information, Warnings and Errors

Information status In addition to the standard status (shown in the example to the right), our statusbar can also give you information, warnings and errors.

Instead of showing a message box for 'simple' messages, PpcSoft iKnow will use the statusbar to inform you.

Information status To ensure that you actually see the messages without being intrusive, the statusbar will change color to draw attention to itself.

In the example to the right, a refresh of the note is completed, and the information is shown using a blue background color.

As you can see, it is almost similar to the standard status color, and this is intentional.
Warning status
For warnings and errors, more attention is required, and the statusbar will therefore change color to yellow (for warnings) or red (for errors).

The main advantage of using the statusbar instead of a message box is that you won't get a message box interrupting you, asking you to press 'OK' while you're working.

The color means that you immediately knows if it is just information, a warning or an error. If it changes to blue, you may not even notice it (which is okay), but the yellow and red will be easy to notice, and therefore draw your attention towards it.

If you're a fast typist, you have probably experienced that a message box popped up while you were typing, and you pressed either space or return and removed the message box even before you were able to read the message. That won't happen in PpcSoft iKnow. The powerful statusbar in PpcSoft iKnow will keep you in the flow by avoiding unnecessary interruptions.
