Copy / Paste
The copy/paste functionality in PpcSoft iKnow is very powerful.
- You may copy and paste text, formatting and links within PpcSoft iKnow
- You may copy pure text from PpcSoft iKnow (using Shift+Ctrl+C)
- You may paste pure text from other applications (no formatting)
- You may paste images into PpcSoft iKnow
- You may paste links to files (and copy them to a subfolder)
Copy/Paste text within PpcSoft iKnow
When you copy and paste text within PpcSoft iKnow, the formatting will be preserved. You will also copy and paste hyperlinks between notes.
Copy pure text from PpcSoft iKnow
If you want to copy text from PpcSoft iKnow to paste into other applications, you may copy pure text by using Shift+Ctrl+C (the formatting will then be automatically removed).
Paste pure text into PpcSoft iKnow
All formatting will be automatically removed from the text when you paste into PpcSoft iKnow.
Paste images into PpcSoft iKnow
If you paste an image into PpcSoft iKnow, it will be copied to a subfolder 'images' and a hyperlink will be created.
If you try to paste the same image into several notes, only one copy will be stored.
If you only want a link to an existing image, drag-and-drop the file to iKnow to automatically create a link to the image without saving a copy to the iKnow subfolder (or simply create the hyperlink manually).
Paste files into PpcSoft iKnow
If you copy a file in explorer and paste it into PpcSoft iKnow, a copy will be stored in a 'files' subfolder and a hyperlink to the copied file will be created.
If you don't want a copy of the file, but only a link to the file, you can hold Shift while clicking the Paste button (or Shift+Ctrl+V to only paste a link to the file). You may also drag-and-drop the file into PpcSoft iKnow to create a link only.
Copying a file to the 'files' subfolder can be useful for synchronizing both the iKnow data and its related files.
